Teething Baby Drooling and Biting Everything? 4 Ways to Relieve Gum Pain
Dr. Sandip Gupta
When a baby is teething, drooling a lot and biting on things, what should we do? This video covers four things parents can do. Gum massage – clean your hands and gently massage the baby's gums. This gives the baby a lot of relief. Cold wet cloth – take a clean cloth, soak it in cold water and give it to the baby. The baby bites on it, which relieves the swelling and pain in the gums. You can also massage the baby's gums with that same cloth. A good teether – use a good silicone teether so the baby does not choke on it. Biting on it gives the baby a lot of relief. You can also keep the teether in the fridge before giving it to the baby, so it reduces the tingling sensation in the gums. Finger foods – you can use finger foods such as cucumber for the baby to bite on, which relieves the irritation in the gums. Relevant for: parents whose teething baby is drooling excessively and biting on everything; parents looking for safe ways to relieve teething pain and gum swelling; parents asking how to do gum massage for a baby; parents choosing a teether and asking about silicone teethers or chilling them; and parents asking whether finger foods like cucumber can help a teething baby.
