Homemade Cerelac Recipe — Sugar-Free, Preservative-Free Rice and Dal Powder for Babies
Dr. Sandip Gupta
This video shares a recipe for homemade cerelac for babies, without sugar and without preservatives. Ingredients: Half a cup of rice, two spoons of dalia, one spoon of moong dal, one spoon of masoor dal and one spoon of toor dal. You can add other dals as well. You can also add 10 to 15 almonds, which give the child good fat and protein. Method: Mix all the ingredients and wash them well in water. After washing, dry them — you can dry them overnight, or keep them in the sunlight for four hours. After drying, dry roast them on a low flame until they turn slightly brown. Once browned, put them in a mixer and make a fine powder. This powder can be stored in an airtight container for up to one month. Why it's good: Because of the combination of rice and dal, this powder becomes a complete protein source, and with almonds in it there is good fat and protein additionally. It is quite good for children's growth. How to serve: Mix one big spoon into a bowl of hot water, heat it, and feed it to the child. Relevant for: parents looking for a homemade alternative to packaged cerelac or baby cereal; parents wanting sugar-free and preservative-free food for their baby; parents starting semi-solids and looking for a complete protein source; parents asking how to make and store homemade baby food powder; and parents wanting to add good fat and protein to a baby's diet for growth.
