Government vs Private Hospital Vaccines — What's the Difference and Which 6 Are Extra

Parents ask what the difference is between the vaccines given at government hospitals and those given at private hospitals. Government hospitals: The vaccines given there are as per the National Immunization Schedule, given to children to protect them from basic, essential, life-threatening diseases. Private hospitals: All the vaccines of the National Immunization Schedule are given, plus six additional vaccines. The six additional vaccines: Influenza Typhoid fever Chickenpox MMR — which includes the mumps vaccine, not covered in the government schedule Hepatitis A HPV These six vaccines are not given at government hospitals.
