A Balanced Milk-Roti Recipe for Babies — Ghee, Nuts Powder and Dates

Dr. Sandip Gupta

The doctor reviews a home recipe video and explains why it is a very good way to give milk to a child, and what makes it a balanced diet. The recipe as shown: Roti is broken into small pieces, put into a mixer and converted into fine pieces. It is then fried in ghee. Nuts powder is added, then soft dates are added on top, and everything is mixed and blended well before feeding the child. Why it works — a balanced diet: Milk – contains calcium, protein and also vitamin D. Roti – gives good carbohydrate. Ghee – ghee is a very good thing, it has good fats. Nuts powder – a very good source of protein and fat for babies, and it makes the food calorie dense, which helps in the child's growth. Dates (soaked) – makes it very sweet, which children like. This gives the child very good nutrition. Relevant for: parents looking for a healthy homemade weight gain and growth recipe for babies; parents wanting to know how to give milk and roti together to a child; parents asking whether ghee, nuts powder and dates are good for babies; parents looking for calorie dense foods for growth; and parents wanting a natural sweetener their child will like instead of sugar.
