5 Winter Immunity Foods for Children — Split by Age (6–12 Months and Above 1 Year)

Dr. Sandip Gupta

This video covers five things to feed children in winter to boost their immunity, separated by age group. For babies between 6 and 12 months: Carrot or sweet potato purée – these contain vitamin A, which helps keep children's skin and lungs healthy. Apple purée or papaya purée – made from ripe papaya fruit. These contain vitamin C, which is an antioxidant that helps our body kill germs. For children above 1 year: Turmeric milk (haldi wala doodh) – turmeric is a natural immunity booster which reduces throat swelling and helps fight germs. Ginger, tulsi and honey kadha – honey is a natural cough remedy and ginger helps with throat swelling, so this kadha gives children relief in cold and cough. Tomato or other vegetable soup – these contain different types of vitamins and minerals which help boost children's immunity. Relevant for: parents looking for winter immunity foods for babies and toddlers; parents of 6–12 month olds wanting purée recipes for the cold season; parents of children above 1 year looking for kadha, haldi milk or soup options; parents whose child gets frequent cold and cough in winter; and parents asking which foods provide vitamin A and vitamin C for children.
